That time of year again

After a relaxing christmas and new year involving eating whole lindt reindeers to myself, drinking glasses of chablis at midday whilst cooking christmas dinner, relatives coming and going and exchanging precious gifts the exam period has come around again...

I'm currently peppering the walls of our house with post it notes with legal cases and human rights jargon to remind myself of this that and the other, and the sleepless nights of panic and worry are slowly creeping in also. 15 days to go till the first exam and counting!

on a positive note I am definately going to stick to my new years resolutions (note: hope)

1. stop clicking my toes (that was a request from the Mister...)

2. clear out the closet that is full to bursting of clothes I never wear anymore
3. do everything possible to get a training contract!!

I hope you all had a great christmas and Happy New Year!
Love,

Doing it American Style

"Saturday night at the movies". Saturday night we drove into Southampton town, picked up burgers and chips from Maccy D's (and chicken nuggets for my big child in the drivers seat) and headed to the Drive in!
The film was Forest Gump a proper classes and the night was really fun. There was a curry van on the side lines and we got to watch the lights of the big shopping center shut down for the night and the buzz of the town after dark surrounded us. The local radion station WaveFM sponsored it and the DJ was sat in a parked van behind all the cars with the film projector. We all tuned into the same channel to listen to him introduce the film and the banter was really funny with him getting everybody to beep their horns, no doubt we disturbed all of the surrounding area with our noise!!
A really fun evening and its a big shame they only put the event on once a year, we will certainly be going to the next one and I hope you do too!

Lilies for a lady

Chris showed up one day last week at my student digs with these big bunch of flowers, aren't they beautiful? He said they were because he was not able to spend the weekend with me and he just wanted me to know he cared and how he always thinks of me when he is away. The rest of our evening involved a stroll through our favourite neighbourhood and along the sea walls, a stop at a wine bar/bistro and a take out pizza sat on my bed.

Got to love lazy mid-week evenings.

Autumn is Here!

So its been a while folks and I apologise but I had the most amazing summer with my gorgeous man and visiting parents and friends and appreciating the sunshine and the carefree feeling I found the online world loosened its pull on me to be inside. And as life is drifting back to normality I find myself staring longingly at matching china teapot and cup and saucer sets to fill with hot chocolate and peppermint teas and Woolen winter coats and thick chunky scarves that I realise its the season to be crunching around on top of leaves and switching on strings of fairy lights in the darkening afternoons. I remembered my little online diary here as I find myself at home alone on a Saturday night, a rare occurence in my life. Chris is somewhere the other side of the country playing soldiers and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to catch up.

There is alot I love about the end of the Summer, I have been able to catch up with all my girlies from University swapping stories and laughing at mishaps that we weren't all around to witness for each other! We have been out for cocktails and stayed up late eating pizza and begun to scare each other with the fact that we all graduate in 9 months time and we have to grow up!

The flat we are decorating has just reached the exciting stage of painting so I have been spending the day deciding just what colour I want in our bedroom. I have decided firmly on this Mellow Mocha colour from Dulux, I think it is soothing and sophisticated and will look lovely against my Grandmothers dark wood furniture.

hopefully you will be hearing more from me again soon

A Free kind of Feeling!

I have been waiting patiently for weeks, holding my breath like a child at christmas, nervously awaiting the precious news that the next few months are going to be mine alone to find new adventures and (excited Victory dance!) I PASSED MY EXAMS!
I've got to say that I worked my butt off for these exams, and if i never have to read Land Law or Tort Law ever again then it is too soon! I have a proud moment about myself where I look in the mirror and say "D, see you could do it when you try really hard" - massively grinning. Chris was amazing helping me, methodically testing me, perking up my spirits as I covered the walls of my mammas home with post it revision notes. Drank endless cups of Peppermint tea and recited cases and statutes over in my head, even encroaching my dreams. But it has all been worth it!
We now have a blissful 3 months stretching ahead of us to do whatever we want to do, first stop being money town! so if anyone in the South West England wants to give a hard working girl a job then lemme know! Other than that I believe that the best sort of fun to be had is free so i'm crossing my fingers the sun is going to shine because I have this knew found smell of freedom....

EXCITED!

I just had to say, yesterday I received an e-mail from my parents telling me all about their new home they're setting up in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). My mum also thoughtfully sent an attachment jam packed with photo's of their new home and it looked absolutely stunning. Since all my family spent many years in Cyprus and England I have grown to love the mediterranean and UK style houses and this new one is a beautifully different yet again. Still with the splashes of pinks and reds in the flowers climb the walls of the courtyard and the rooms are HUGE and spacey and full of marble. And, get this, A POOL! I can only imagine the memories waiting to be made that will get jam packed inside this new pretty shell. I'm sure they will quickly settle and I am so proud and happy of my Dad to take the leap of faith to go and carve something new in a strange and exotic land. I am already imagining the posts I will be writing about what I see when I visit them!
