Me and the Mister during last week had the same conversation as we usually do with each other that goes along the lines "honey, what do you fancy doing this weekend then?". Always keen to make the most of our precious weekends, especially when the UK is keen to relent and offer up some gorgeous sunshine, I felt the strong longing to be out in the open exploring the colourfulness that grows this time of year in England.
My favourite flower is the protected bluebell and April and May is their blossoming season, so in my mind I could think of nothing better to do on a slightly blustery saturday spring afternoon than have a picnic in the midst of their carpet of colour!
We spent a couple of magic hours on a picnic blanket underneath one of those unusual trees that children always find to climb, eating houmus, sharing a bag potato twirls and swigging from a bottle of summer fruits squash. It is afternoon's like these where a girl wants to slip on a pair of sandals and a sun dress and soak in some sunny peace.
And thats exactly what we did.
love,
Di
A long time ago I started one of these, it's still going! How much have I changed? How much have I grown up?
